At over a mile high, Mitre Peak provides stunning photographic opportunities while serving as the perfect picturesque backdrop for the Sound. A must-see. One of New Zealand's most famous children was the great alpinist Sir Edmund Hillary who awed the world when he reached the summit of Mount Everest in 1953 along with Tenzing Norgay - the first men to conquer the world's tallest mountain. Before Everest, however, Hillary enjoyed scaling his native New Zealand mountain ranges, which still offer inviting challenges to climbers from all over the globe. In fact, when it comes to adrenalin, New Zealand is no slouch. The world's first commercial Bungee Jumping site was opened at Queenstown on the South Island in the late 1980s! Looking forward to seeing you under the sunset! India 2010 Visit this February   When most people think of traveling to India they imagine grand palaces, epic romances, and bustling cities. While these initial impressions are all valid, Biotrek likes to take the path less traveled. That's why we go on Safari in Ranthambore National Park! Ranthambore was established as a National Park in 1980, and is one of the largest and most famous parks in all of Northern India. One of Ranthambore's greatest attractions is the Bengal Tiger, and with good cause: the Tiger is strikingly beautiful and highly endangered. The protected environment provided by the park has proven to be one of the best in all of India to see these animals in the wild. The India tour is also based around the Jaipur Elephant Festival. During February it is Holi time throughout India, when Indians cover themselves with bright colored powders in vibrant celebration, creating potential for stunning photo-ops. Elephants parade in the streets and in an arena where they are judged based on decoration.
